In Summary My Comments/Suggestions are:

  • The stroke you describe is really known as a kicked forehand shot. Anybody can do it if they've got the skills.
  • You have to hit from below the height of the ball, going up the back of the ball to the left hand side. It produces a side spin that twists in the air and then kicks to the left.
  • Anybody can do it if they practice properly and they have the right amount of skills.
  • This stroke has been used for many many years by many many players, but we see it more now because of the quality of camera work, etc.
  • Best of luck with your kicked forehand drive.
