The Americans once built a wall and they put ball machines behind the wall and they could fire them out from different positions on the wall. I don’t know how many ball machines they had, but this wall used to fire them out from all over and you could program it differently so the far into the court was a wall that had little orifices in all over. Well not all over, let’s say there were 10. Some up high, some down low. You see, so you could lob them from down below, fire them down as in smash, fire them from the side and so on. And that was incredibly expensive, but it did do a lot of the things that I’m talking about. You know imagination and what have you. But you still... it still didn’t teach you anything about reading the opposition’s strokes. No... No... but that was the first attempt that I saw to get it at a higher level than you know.... other things had limitations. Yeah. You see. But this talking ball machine fascinates me – I think it’s wonderful. But I can still see faults... because I don’t think that you’ll ever get it to the perfection that is necessary to alleviate playing against a person. Next Part: |
